AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Police were investigating a bank robbery in Central Austin on Wednesday afternoon.
It happened around 12.20 p.m. at the NorthStar Bank on West 35th Street. Police said the robber fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
Description of the robber:
- Man of unknown race
- 5-foot-10, medium build
- Mid 20s
- Short black hair
- He was wearing a plaid buttoned-up shirt, rectangular wire-framed sunglasses and a black backpack.

An 8-year-old was killed while standing outside of a vehicle which lost control during the icy conditions, DPS said.
