AUSTIN (KXAN) - Organizers say 15,000 people turned out for the seventh annual Ice Cream festival at Fiesta Gardens on Saturday.
Founder and self-proclaimed chief happiness officer Doug Lyon started the event because they were looking for a fun kid-friendly event for the summer.
Lyon said that the event continues to get bigger, with this year as their biggest yet.
A $10 donation at the gate got ice cream lovers all the scoops they could eat.
Organizers donate a portion of the gate to local charities. Past beneficiaries include the Austin Children's Shelter, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habibis Hutch, and many more.
