Austin (KXAN) - Hundreds of folks took to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Sunday for some Halloween fun.
Lots of kids came out in costume for the center's annual Goblins in the Garden event.
Participants trick-or treated, created arts and crafts, and were even able to interact with live bats and an owl.
They also had the chance to complete a scavenger hunt around the center.
Event organizers say the center provides a great place to visit all year round.
"It's a wonderful time to be out here at the wildflower center," said Education Manager Alice Jansen.
"Everyone thinks spring is the best time, but fall is equally as beautiful. We have all kinds of lovely blooms. We have a pumpkin patch for photo taking with your family."
Things wrapped up Sunday evening with a costume parade through the center's courtyard.
Late Saturday night into early Sunday morning, a light band of freezing drizzle traversed the I-35 corridor eastward. With sub-freezing temperatures, even the light precipitation created major problems.
