LLANO, Texas (KXAN) - The city of Llano has ordered Stage 2 Water Restrictions be implemented due to a small increase in flows on the Llano River and a forecast of cooler temperatures with increased rain chances in upcoming weeks.
Llano had gone to Stage 3 restrictions in early August.
Property owners using automatic irrigation systems or hose-end sprinklers can water twice per week. Watering cannot be done between the hours of 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
- Odd-numbered addresses may water Wednesday and/or Saturday
- Even-numbered addresses may water Thursday and/or Sunday
- Commercial or multi-family properties may water Tuesday and/or Friday
Irrigation of landscape is permitted at any time if by means of a hand-held hose or drip-irrigation system.
Additional restrictions prohibit the use of water for fountains, washing down sidewalks, and washing of vehicles except on designated watering days.
Violation of the water use restrictions may result in a fine according to the city's ordinance.
The city commends the community for its water conservation efforts during the summer and asks residents to continue using water wisely.
