LOUISVILLE, Ky. (NBC/WAVE) - Hot air balloons are getting ready to take flight in Louisville, Ky.
Thursday night, the balloons were lit up for the Great Balloon Glimmer, as it's called.
The Great Balloon Rush Hour race gets under way Friday morning. Later Friday, balloon pilots will fire their burners and light up the night sky for the Great Balloon Glow.
On Saturday, more than two dozen hot air balloons will compete in the Great Balloon Race. The events are all part of the Kentucky Derby Festival's Balloon Fest.
The Kentucky Derby takes place next Saturday.
