NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) - Rockin' R RiverRides sits along the Guadalupe River outside of Gruene, Texasand suffered thousands of dollars in damage Wednesday when 12inches of rain fell in the area within a four-hourperiod.
The T-shirt shop was a complete loss after 4 feet of waterentered the building, the rental building collapsed and was crushedby the rising water. In addition, 5,000 of the business' tubesfloated away.
"We had about a dozen or so trailers that were loaded withtubes, and then in the back, we had a storage area full of tubes aswell," said Rockin' R Manager Shane Wolf. "But we've been receivingcalls from residents in
Workers showed up Thursday morning to try and clean up the mess.Managers said they expect the business to be closed for up to twoweeks while they make repairs.
So far, there's no official damage estimate.
Meanwhile, other tubing businesses along the Guadalupe River areopen for business.
Rockin' R's location on the Comal is also open.
