DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) — Automotive students from all 50 states are heading to Ford Motor Co.'s world headquarters in Michigan to compete for scholarships and prizes.
And for the coveted title of best student auto technician in the nation.
The high school juniors and seniors are to represent their states Tuesday in the annual Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills Competition national finals on the Ford headquarters front lawn in Dearborn.
The contestants must race the clock and each other in a competition that tests their automotive skills.
The idea is to encourage students to continue their educations and pursue careers in the automotive service industry.
