BASTROP COUNTY (KXAN) - Fire crews contained a brush fire that burned 350 acres inBastrop County Monday evening.
The fire spread through the Griffith League Scout Ranch, northof Bastrop, next to Camp Swift.
The Bastrop Fire Department and several other agencies worked tostop the flames.
Blake Clampffer with the Bastrop County Office of EmergencyManagement said crews will go over the 300 acres affected withbulldozers to fully control the fire.
Temperatures neared 100 degrees in the area, meaningfirefighters had to battle both the flames, and exhaustion from theextreme heat.
The American Red Cross of Central Texas provided food and drinkfor emergency personnel who worked to putting out the brushfire.
