San Saba County (KXAN) - San Saba Sheriff L. A. Brown confirms a wildfire off Wallace Creek Road just outside San Saba has been brought under control, with damage limited to about 600 acres.
As of Sunday afternoon, Sheriff Brown said that the fire is under control and was still on scene to put out any hot spots.
While the department had some damage to a fire truck, the truck is still operational.
Four counties and the Texas Forest Service assisted on the fire, which was contained around 10 p.m. on Saturday night. Brown said the four counties assisting with the fire had been released.
The fire consumed just over 600 acres of primarily ranch land with heavy brush. While some deer camps have burned, Brown said the fire had yet to threaten any homes.
The county no longer needs donations, Brown said. Any excess will be used in the county jail.
