FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — It seems that eight Texas Air National Guard cargo transport planes used for post-hurricane evacuations will remain in Texas — at least until 2014.
A Senate Appropriations defense subcommittee Tuesday approved a $604 billion defense spending bill that reverses proposed Pentagon cuts in Air Force personnel and equipment. The proposal included moving the C-130 Hercules planes from Fort Worth's Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in two years.
The full committee is expected to vote later this week.
