BURNET, Texas (KXAN) - Two people are in custody after an overnight shooting sent two people to the hospital in Burnet.
Matthew Nicholas Basquez, 17, is in custody and has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence.
Jack Dilon Dickison, 20, is in custody and charged with tampering with evidence. More charges may be brought against both suspects as authorities continue their investigation.
Charges are expected against a third suspect.
One victim was taken to Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock for surgery. Another went to Seton Highland Lakes Hospital in Burnet and has since been released into police custody.
Burnet Police Chief Paul Nelson says this was an isolated incident and the public was never in danger.
The shooting began at about 9:30 Sunday at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of North Main Street. Police were also investigating at the Best Western Hotel on the west side of Burnet.
