NEW YORK (KXAN) - A familiar face will join Kelly Ripa Wednesday morning on "LIVE with Regis and Kelly."
Austin's own Bobby Bones will sit next to Kelly and make his national debut filling-in for Regis.
The Bobby Bones show can be heard on 96.7 KISS-FM in Austin. The popular radio DJ flew to New York this morning with KXAN's Chris Willis.
He was selected from thousands of entries from across the country, as part of the "Men of Radio Co-host for a Day" contest, and is one of five guest hosts this week.
Bones said he's still a little nervous, but landing in the Big Apple makes the reality of his show on Wednesday sink in.
"I think tomorrow, 7:15 is when they're picking me up, I think that's when it all happens," Bones said. "So I think that's when it's going to set-in, 'Wow, this is real.'"
Watch Bobby Bones on "LIVE! with Regis and Kelly" Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. CDT on KXAN, right after the "Today" show.
KXAN.com will have more behind-the-scenes information and photos as Bobby gets ready, with live reports Wednesday on Austin News Today.
