FREDERICKSBURG (KXAN) - Two Kerrville men were killed Monday afternoon when theirultralight plane crashed in the Hill Country, just south ofFredericksburg.
Roger Nathanson, 49, was the owner and pilot of the plane. James Stokes, 62, was the passenger. Both men died at thescene.
Neighbors reported hearing a sputtering sound and then aflapping sound just before the plane fell out of the air. The crashhappened around 1:00pm on the Bonn Ranch, a sprawling ranch about10 miles south of Fredericksburg off Highway 16. The owner of theranch said he did not know the two victims.
Gillespie County Sheriff's officials said the plane must havetaken off from private property because the local airport had norecord of the flight.
The plane was an ultralight, two seater with one engine.
The FAA is investigating the cause of the crash.
