SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (CNN/KTVU) - A stranded surfer found himself stuck between a rock and a hard place Monday in California.
The San Francisco police and U.S. Coast Guard got word of the situation off Ocean Beach.
Rescue crews realized they could not reach the surfer by boat so he had to jump into the water where the Coast Guard swimmers were waiting below.
The surfer then paddled to a rescue boat where medical personnel checked him out.
The Coast Guard says the man had no injuries.
