Tide, Texas have coaching connection

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (WALA) - Nick Saban and Will Muschamp go all the way back to Saban's LSU days, and they still keep in touch. Well, sort of.

"He doesn't text," Muschamp said.

Saban may not know how to text, but he can pick good coaches, and Muschamp is one of them. When Saban was at LSU, he found Muschamp at a tiny Division 2 school in Georgia. Within a year, he was Saban's defensive coordinator.

Saban brought Muschamp along to Miami, too. But Mushcamp soon bolted for Auburn, where we certainly remember his enthusiasm on the sidelines.

Now Muschamp stands on Texas' sidelines, and that same fiery approach has inspired the Longhorns.
