AVALON BEACH, Australia (CNN/SEVEN NETWORK) - A horse has been rescued after being stuck in the mud for hours on a beach in Australia.
A woman and her daughter were riding along Avalon Beach when the horse started sinking. The woman's daughter called for help.
It was a race against time to get him out before the tide came in. Rescue workers sedated the animal, then used a sling and tractor to pull him out of the mud. It took more than three hours.
The 18-year-old horse was not hurt.
