MORRISVILLE, Vt. (CNN/WFFF) - A Vermont sports store is banning pennies.

Customers seem OK with the move, according to the owner Caleb Magoon. Magoon says it won't change the way merchandise is bought and paid for.

"It doesn't matter to them, really. Check transactions, credit card transactions, nothing has changed. They still pay to the cent and on cash transactions they are frequently getting a few extra cents back, so they save a few cents," said Magoon.

"I don't really want the pennies anyway. They just kind of either jingle in my pocket, end up on my couch or on my rug and I gotta pick 'em up when I vacuum," said customer Jason Papadopoulos.

Canada has already decided to end production of pennies.
