NEW YORK (AP) — Plans are taking shape for Heavy D's funeral. It's set for Friday in Mount Vernon, New York — a suburb of New York City that earned the nickname "money-earning Mount Vernon" because of all the rappers who came from there. Diddy is among those who will be speaking at the service.
Heavy D died last week in Los Angeles — after collapsing outside his home. He was just 44. Meanwhile, BET says it will pay tribute to the fallen rapper at the upcoming Soul Train Music Awards in Atlanta. Among the rappers taking part in the tribute will be Curtis Blow, Naughty by Nature, Big Daddy Kane and Doug E. Fresh.
