BUTTE, Mont (AP) April 3, 2005 - The son of famed daredevil Evel Knievel, motorcycle stuntman Robbie Knievel, is jumping into reality television in a new cable series.

Knievel's Wild Ride, is scheduled to debut Tuesday night on the A&E network.

It follows the stunt rider, 42, family members and crew as they work and travel. The first episode features a jump over 25 police cars at a New Jersey car dealership.

Six episodes, each revolving around a motorcycle jump, have already been filmed. Seven more are expected to be completed by May.

Dubbed a "real-life and limb series," the network said the show is "an exuberant and unfiltered look into the life of a wild man who lives hard, plays hard, and most certainly works hard."

Knievel's hometown of Butte is featured in the first episode as he and his crew stop there on their road trip from Knievel's current home in Washington state to New Jersey. The gang swings by a bar and a fight breaks out.

The elder Knievel became famous in the 1970s for riding his motorcycle over everything from vehicles to alligators while wearing a red, white and blue jumpsuit.
