From the ground, it will appear as if he is soaring over the state Capitol building. The reason for the jump is to commemorate the 15th annual Republic of Texas Biker Rally this weekend.

As with all of his jumps, many spectators are going to see if he sticks the landing or breaks every bone in his body. People all over the country will be watching. Meanwhile, in Downtown Austin, an expected 200,000 people will hold their breath as Knievel revs his motorcycle engine in anticipation.

Robbie Knievel got his love for daredevil stunts from his famous father, Evel Knievel. He performed his first stunt with his dad when he was only 8 years old.

Since then, Robbie has set 20 world records with his motorcycle jumps.

Downtown streets will be affected by the RoT rally. The 100 block of Congress Avenue to 11th Street between Brazos and Colorado streets will be closed from 6 p.m. until 3 a.m. Friday night. The route for the parade is:

  • From the Travis County Expo Center, South on Decker Lane to 969
  • West on 969 to Tannehill
  • South on Tannehill to Springdale
  • South on Springdale to Cesar Chavez
  • West on Cesar Chavez to Congress
