AUSTIN (KXAN) - Though Robbie Knievel has done stunts in 30 mph winds before, the severe weather approaching Central Texas did not bode well for his 280-foot stunt Friday night.

But, bikers rejoice as the jump seems to not be threatened by the inclimate weather.

A tornado warning is in effect for Northwest-Central Texas counties, and storm spotters feared the outskirts of the severe thunderstorms might affect Downtown Austin.

However, the storm took a turn and might now miss Downtown Austin completely.

Knievel is set to jump over three Budweiser semi-trucks at 11 p.m. Friday night.

It is an extremely dangerous jump to begin with, not counting in extreme winds, rain and hail associated with this storm. Knievel may have lucked out with the storm turning.
