CENTRAL TEXAS (KXAN) - Severe storms and hail pummelled Central Texas cities for some two hours late Thursday, with hail appearing in several parts of Austin.

Minor damage and hail were reported throughout Austin, and more than 19,000 power outages were reported by Austin Energy at one point during the evening. As of Friday morning, all but 10 customers had power restored.

Austin Energy spokesman Ed Clark said remaining repairs will go on through Friday.

At 7:27 p.m., National Weather Service meteorologists detected a tornado near Lake Victor, 8 miles northeast of Burnet. The storm was moving southeast at 15 mph.

Burnet county officials reported overturned small aircraft at the Burnet aiport. A roof blew off of a 7-11 convenience store on South Waters Street. Mobile homes toppled at a local RV park as well. Cedar Park also sustained substantial damage from wind and rain.

Residents in Bertram also saw damage to their properties, including a severely damage nursing home. No clients of the facility suffered injuries. Trees fell throughout the city, including several which were uprooted. Windows shattered and cars also were damaged as well. No injuries or fatalities have been reported.
