AUSTIN (KXAN) - It is a chilly start to the weekend, as high temperatures Friday afternoon remained in the 50s, making it the coolest day in nine months. A cold night is forecast, as lows are expected to fall into the 30s early Saturday, with a light freeze possible in the Hill Country. Temperatures in the Austin metro area and eastern counties should not fall below the middle to upper 30s, but a light freeze cannot be ruled out in low-lying, rural areas.
Saturday will be another cooler than average day as skies are expecting to be mostly cloudy, holding temperatures in the 50s once again, though some locations could reach 60 degrees.
A warm front will begin moving north into the area early Sunday, and it may be accompanied by some fog, drizzle or light rain showers, possibly as early as Saturday night. Skies will remain mostly cloudy Sunday, but temperatures will warm into the upper 60s.
