AUSTIN (KXAN) - A local Homeless Outreach group is close to rolling out a new "mobile internet cafe".
The nonprofit group "The Homeless Coach" is working on an extreme makeover of a donated R-V. They gutted the '86 Winnebago and now they're rebuilding it from the inside out.
Local businesses are chipping in - "Living Direct" donated a compact kitchen unit that gave them more space for seating.
When it's done, the R-V will allow local homeless to connect with the mainstream community online, and in person.
"The idea is to create a surrogate families, in a sense, with community members who then help create a transition plan for this homeless individual," said one organizer.
Creators say their idea is to create "SsenSselemoh", pronounced ((sen-SELL-uh-mo)), which is "homelessness" spelled backwards.
