NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) - Around 2 p.m. Tuesday New Braunfels Police responded to a welfare call in the 200 block of East Merriweather Street. Inside, they found Melissa Eason dead.

The 27-year-old's death has been named suspicious and police are in the beginning stages of an investigation. They tell us, the events and circumstances surrounding her death are unknown at this time.

According to police, Eason's family has been notified.
