AUSTIN (KXAN) - Five area high schools have advanced to the state semifinals, including four in 4A, seting up a pair of matchups in between Austin-area teams.
Manor and Cedar Park will play a 4A-Division II semifinal at 1 pm Dec. 15 at Georgetown ISD Stadium.
Cedar Park defeated previously unbeaten San Antonio-Brennan 32-7 Friday to advance to the school’s first semifinal. The Timberwolves have won 12 games in a row since beginning the season 0-2.
Manor held on to beat Fort Bend-Marshall 26-20 Saturday night. Marshall drove the ball to the Manor 14-yard line in time for one final play but a pass to the end zone was incomplete.
At the same time as the Manor and Cedar Park game, Rouse and Georgetown will meet in a 4A-Division I semifinal at Gupton Stadium.
Both teams scored dominant wins Saturday. Undefeated Georgetown beat Nederland 38-6 and Rouse shutout Corpus Christi-Flour Bluff 34-0.
Westlake will face Cedar Hill in 5A-Division II semifinal Dec. 15 at 2 pm at Waco ISD Stadium. The Chaparrals beat Plano West 42-35 Saturday.
