AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — University of Texas coach Kim Brackin is out after six years leading the women's swimming program.
A school statement Monday says Brackin is no longer head coach, effective immediately.
Her team finished ninth during last month's NCAA swimming and diving championships.
UT officials say Matt Scoggin continues as men's and women's diving coach. Women's associate head coach Jim Henry will remain until a new head coach has been named.
Brackin took over as head coach in May 2006.
According to TexasSports.com, Brackin also was the head coach for Panama at the 2003 World Championships.
As a member of the USA Swimming coaching staff, she was an assistant coach for the 2003 World University Games, the head assistant women's coach for the 2002 US National Junior Team, and a National Select Camp coach, TexasSports says.
