AUSTIN (AP) - University of Texas regents are considering making changes to football coach Mack Brown's contract.

The regents have scheduled a telephone meeting Thursday. The agenda includes only one item to consider, a proposed change in contract terms for Brown, whose current deal runs through 2016.

Details on the proposed change were not immediately released. Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds told the Associated Press in December he expected Brown to continue coaching for several years.

Brown is one of the highest paid coaches in the country at $5.2 million per year.

Texas went 8-5 in Browns' 14th season in 2011, rebounding from his first losing season and winning the Holiday Bowl.
