WACO (KXAN) -- - The Texas men opened Big 12 play with an overtime loss on the road against Baylor.

The women, meanwhile, dropped to 0-2 in conference play after losing to Oklahoma 78-70 at the Erwin Center.

For the men, the Longhorns saw a one point lead with less than two minutes to play in overtime disappear as the Bears went on a 10-2 run to end the game.

Free throws proved to be the biggest difference in the game as Baylor shot 45 free throws to Texas' 14.

The Texas women were looking to snap a three game skid and their first Big 12 win under Karen Aston.

The Longhorns were within three points at 51-48 with less than 15 minutes to play after Imani McGee-Stafford's putback on her own missed free throw.

But after McGee-Stafford's layup, Oklahoma went on a 17-2 run. The Sooners were 9-of-11 of three in the second half.

Both the men and women return to conference play against West Virginia Wednesday. The men host the Mountaineers at 8 o'clock, while the women travel to Morgantown 6 o'clock tip.
