Arlington - The Wimberley Texans finished their season a perfect 16-0 and won the 3A Division II State Championship, 21-14, over Argyle.

RB Dennis Smith, who had two touchdowns in the game, was named the game's offensive MVP. DB Brennen Blakemore, who had a key interception of Argyle QB Austin Aune to help ice the game, was named the Defensive MVP.

The title is the Texans' first since 2005, and the second under coach Weldon Nelms. The Texans beat Coldspring-Oakhurst by the same score, 21-14, to advance to the state championship.
