(KXAN) SAN ANTONIO - Authorities in San Antonio have ended the investigation in to an alleged sexual assault involving Case McCoy and Jordan Hicks. McCoy and Hicks will not face criminal charges,  a spokesperson with the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney's Office confirmed Wednesday.

The Longhorn football players were accused of sexually assaulting a 21-year old woman on Dec. 28 in San Antonio. Texas beat Oregon State in the Alamo Bowl the following day.

McCoy and Hicks were sent home before the game for violating curfew. The two were reinstated to the team earlier in the month.

The lawyers for both players have maintained for weeks that the case was closed and neither player would face charges.
