AUSTIN (AP) — The UCLA Bruins now have until Friday to try and adapt to life without their second leading scorer before playing Minnesota in the South Regional of the NCAA tournament.

Freshman Jordan Adams broke his right foot in the Pac-12 tournament semifinals, and the Bruins (25-9) lost to Oregon in the championship game with no time to prepare and Adams watching from the bench wearing a boot.

The 11-time national champion Bruins still earned a No. 5 seed and will play 11th-seeded Minnesota (20-12).

The Gophers earned their first tournament berth since 2010 and their ninth overall. This is their third with coach Tubby Smith who is making his 17th appearance as a head coach. His Gophers beat five Top 25 teams, including a win over top-ranked Indiana.
