OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Department of Transportation will halt construction work on Interstate 35 in southern Oklahoma for fans driving to the Texas-Oklahoma football game .

O-DOT spokesman David Meuser said all lanes will open Thursday afternoon through the two main construction projects near Ardmore and Pauls Valley. He said construction work will stop starting at 6 a.m. Friday and will resume Monday.

No. 8 OU will play No. 21 Texas Saturday afternoon in Dallas.

Meuser said the department tries to plan construction work around fall football season and the holiday season.

He said drivers can get traffic updates on Twitter from both O-DOT and the Texas Department of Transportation and at the My35 website .
