McCoy reacts to Heisman results

NEW YORK - In the closest Heisman Trophy race ever, Colt McCoy finished third behind Mark Ingram and Toby Gerhart. McCoy finished 159 votes behind Ingram, and 131 behind Gerhart.

"I was honored to be here," McCoy said. "Obviously you want to win and take it back to your teammates, but for me, I think Mark and Toby and Tim [Tebow] and [Ndamukong] Suh were very well respected and very well voted for, and could all have won.

"I've won the Walter Camp [Award] and the Maxwell [Award] and I'll be able to go home and give those to my teammates, and show how hard we've worked and how much commitment we've made to each other to be the best and the most important thing to me is going to win the National Championship."

This is the second year McCoy has been nominated for the Heisman Trophy.
