AUSTIN (KXAN) - UT freshman defensive back, Marcus Davis, was arrested in Pearland over the weekend. Davis is charged with possession of a controlled substance. Coach Mack Brown said Davis will be "suspended indefinitely...pending the completion of the legal process."
"We are very disappointed to hear about the recent allegations against Marcus Davis," said UT Coach Mack Brown. "We have talked to Marcus and his family and have decided....he will not be involved in team activities in any way at this time, including participating in either the Big 12 Championship or our bowl game."

Davis, who hails from League City, Texas, was ranked in ESPN's top 150 national prospects before coming to Texas. He has recorded two sacks so far on the season.
The Longhorns have been off since the Thanksgiving Day game against Texas A&M where they won 49 - 39. They returned to workouts on Sunday to prepare for the Big 12 Championship game against Nebraska on Saturday in Arlington.
