AUSTIN (KXAN) - McCoy's injury in the National Championship game is fresh on Texas fans' minds.

McCoy mentioned that he kept his pads on for the second half of the game because he wanted to play and was praying that he would get feeling back in his arm. Some fans were saying that he should have played despite the injury. To them, McCoy responded almost sarcastically that he would have played if his "right arm had feeling."

It has been a busy week for McCoy who is currently in California rehabilitating his injured shoulder.

On Monday, an orthopedic surgeon told McCoy there was not any structural damage from his injury and that with two weeks of rehab, he should be back at 100 percent. He was really grateful that he does not need surgery.

The good news continued as McCoy decided where he was going to rehab and hired an agent. Later in the evening, he flew back to Austin where he decided to make another decision about his future.

McCoy proposed to Rachel Glandorf at DKR Memorial Stadium using the Godzilla-tron to pop the question. Rachel said yes.

"She pushes me to be the best I can be, and doesn't let me settle for anything less," said McCoy. "I know I'm a better player on the field because of her and am truly blessed."

McCoy is prepared for the combine and knows how hard he has to work to be the best there.

Former Texas quarterback Colt McCoy won the Manning Award on Thursday. The Manning Award names the nation's top quarterback and it is the only award named after the bowl games.

McCoy's 45 wins is the NCAA record for wins.
