Omaha, Nebraska - The Longhorns are down 1-0 after a 7-6, 11-inning loss to LSU in game one of the championship at the College World Series. The game was the longest by innings and time in the seven-year-history of the CWS championship series.
Texas batters hit five solo home runs during the game, but it wasn't enough. Mike Mahtook hit an RBI single in the 11th inning that gave LSU the go-ahead run off of Longhorns pitcher Brandon Workman.
Two of Texas' home runs were courtesy of Russell Moldenhauer, who had just one home run for the season going into the game.
Game two is Tuesday at 6:00 PM central.
