AUSTIN (KXAN) - As the Longhorns prepare for the Holiday Bowl, the team is taking advantage of the extra practice they get between the last game of the regular season and their bowl game.
This is true for the quarterbacks as well. Coaches said both David Ash and Case McCoy would play in the bowl game against Cal
Offensive Coordinator Bryan Harsin discussed the positives to having the extra practice and how that affects Ash and McCoy.
"The one thing about bowl practice is you spend a majority of that time early on yourself," he said. "So both those guys have repped equal amounts. And it's just about development. It's not just at the quarterback position, but every position. And so those guys have gotten a lot of reps, and going back to some of the situations that we were in during the season and trying to recreate that, and correct some of those mistakes, and both guys have done a good job and now, as we start getting into the preparation for Cal, and we've done that. But really start getting into just being more focused on that at this point then we'll start balancing that out a little bit more."
The team leaves Friday for San Diego.
