AUSTIN (KXAN) - Longhorn Network will enter its second year in a big way with exclusive telecasts of the Longhorns’ first two consecutive home football games in 2012.

The team’s season opener against Wyoming will air live in HD from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium Saturday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. CT.

LHN will televise the Texas vs. New Mexico game the following Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m., also live from DKR.

ESPN football analyst and former Buffalo Bills linebacker Ray Bentley and ESPN play-by-play announcer Mark Neely will call the action.

Also this fall, Longhorn Network will televise two Texas State University home football games. The Bobcats’ games against Mountain West Conference opponent Nevada on Saturday, Sept. 29, and the Western Athletic Conference’s Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Nov. 10, will be aired live from Jim Wacker Field at Bobcat Stadium. Times for both games are TBA.

This is Texas State’s inaugural season as a member of the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision. They will compete in the WAC this year before moving to the Sun Belt Conference in 2013. Former Alabama coach Dennis Franchione is in his second year as head coach of the Bobcats.
