ROUND ROCK (KXAN) - Will Ferrell made a special appearance at the Dell Diamond Thursday night. The comedy star enjoyed the Express' baseball game from the owner's suite and then emerged from centerfield to start the sixth inning.
He was dressed as Billy Ray "Rojo" Johnson, an American-born pitcher raised in Venezuela. The character was part of a skit to entertain the fans during intermission. Ferrell followed up that performance by singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" in the seventh inning.
The actor, better known for his roles on "Saturday Night Live" and movies like "Anchorman", "Talladega Nights", and "Old School", is in the area to promote his charity event.
The Will Powered Golf Classic is Friday at Cimmaron Hills Country Club in Georgetown benefitting College for Cancer, which provides scholarships to cancer survivors.
It's the first time the event has come to Central Texas.
