AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Lake Travis football team is on schedule in their quest for a fifth consecutive state title. The Cavaliers (13-0) rolled past Corpus Christi Flour Bluff in the third round of the high school playoffs, beating them 58-15 at San Antonio's Heroes Stadium Friday night.
Lake Travis' district rival Cedar Park (11-2) did the same, advancing with a 49-0 shut out over Weslaco East at the Alamodome on Friday afternoon.
With the win, Cedar Park and Lake Travis are set to play each other in the 4A Division-I quarterfinals at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30PM.
The two met twice last year with Cedar Park winning the regular season finale for the 25-4A district title and Lake Travis winning their quarterfinal rematch at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. The Cavaliers went on to win their 4th straight UIL state championship.
Lake Travis won this year's 25-4A district title with a 24-21 win over the Timberwolves in the regular season finale at Leander's Gupton Stadium.
