AUSTIN (KXAN) - The UT Basketball team blew a 12 point second half lead to Baylor and blew their chance for their first win over a ranked team with a 77-72 loss to the 13th ranked Bears on Monday.
Texas led 36-26 at the half and extended it to 38-26 early in the second half on a Julien Lewis jumper. From there Baylor outscored the Longhorns 51-34 to earn their second win at the Erwin Center in the last 14 years.
Pierre Jackson topped all scorers with 25 points while Quincy Acey scored 22 points and pulled down 16 boards and made a number of big plays down the stretch.
J'Covan Brown led the Longhorns with 18 points on six three pointers, but also had a key turnover, throwing the ball away when Texas was down by three with 14 seconds to go.
The Longhorns fall to 17-11 and 7-8 in the Big 12. Texas has must win games against Texas Tech in Lubbock on Saturday and the Oklahoma at the Erwin Center on the 29th before closing the regular season at Kansas.
