UT women and HS volleyball wrap-up

AUSTIN - The UT women's basketball team beat North Texas, 96-52, and the Westlake volleyball team beat Katy Cinco Ranch, 3-1 to advance to the 5A State Championship game

Junior guard Kathleen Nash scored 20 points in the win for the Longhorns, who improve to 2-1 on the season.

With Westlake's defeat of Cinco Ranch, the Chaparrals rematch with Amarillo for the third straight year in the state title game. Last year, Amarillo beat Westlake. Friday, Amarillo defeated Georgetown, 3-1, to advance.

Wimberley lost to Lucas Lovejoy, 3-2 in the 3A state semifinal.
