CEDAR PARK (KXAN) - It's one of the budding rivalries in high school football, and it might be short-lived.  Lake Travis (9-0, 5-0) and Cedar Park (8-1, 5-0) will rematch for the 25-4A district title on Friday, Nov. 4 at Leander ISD's Gupton Stadium in the final week of the high school football regular season.

The met last season with the same stakes, and Cedar Park beat the favored Cavaliers 35-21 on their home field to win the title.  The two met again in the 4A-Division I state quarterfinals, and Lake Travis got their revenge with a 21-20 win at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium.  It was the Timberwolves only loss of the 2010 season and Lake Travis went on to win their 4th consecutive state championship.

This year's matchup could eventually yield another ring.

This year's game will be televised on KBVO (Time Warner Cable Ch. 1525) at 7:30PM Saturday.  However, this could be the final year of the rivalry.  The UIL will realign and reclassify schools for the 2012-2014 academic years, and Lake Travis could be moving to the 5A division based on enrollment.

KBVO televised another district champion on Thursday night as Leander defeated McNeil 45-21 at Round Rock ISD's Reeves Stadium.  The Lions won the 16-5A title outright for the first time since 2006.  They will enter the 5A Division-II playoff bracket.
