AUSTIN(kxan) - Lake Travis scored 22 unanswered points Saturday night at UT's Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium to knock off Westlake 32-21 in front of more than 30,000 fans. The Cavaliers extend their win streak to 47 in a row with their last loss coming three years ago to Westlake.
Cavs Senior Quarterback Michael Brewer threw for 289 yards and touchdown, 164 of those yards were to junior receiver Griffin Gilbert, younger brother of UT quarterback Garrett.
Westlake jumped out to a 12-0 lead behind 1st year quarterback Louis Guilbeau. Guilbeau ran for the first score of the game and hit Bryce Dolezal for a 60 yard TD to give the Chaps a 21-10 3rd quarter lead. But Lake Travis took the lead on TD runs by Cameron Wrinkle and then Brewer to take the lead, but it was Tyler Paulsen's 4th quarter interception for a toucdown that iced the game.
Lake Travis suffered a big loss when Senior receiver Connor Floyd was carted off the field in the 3rd quarter with serious leg injury.
Lake Travis will try to extend their win streak to 49 streak at Hendrickson on Friday while Westlake travels to Abilene.
