ROUND ROCK (KXAN) - A 9-year-old girl from Sealy suffered a broken nose at the Round Rock Express game last night after being hit by a line drive foul ball in the stands in the ninth inning.

The girl was recovering at Dell Children’s Medical Center this morning and is “doing fine,” said Express spokesman Larry Little.

The ball hit the girl after left-handed hitter Endy Chavez of the Oklahoma City RedHawks fouled, the ball striking his bat and then rocketing into the stands.

The president and general manager of the Round Rock Express both visited the girl’s family at Dell Children’s on Friday morning.

“She’s doing a lot better than it could have been,” Little said. “That’s always a risk at games, and not the first time someone’s been hit by a foul ball, but it’s unfortunately and you hate to see it happen.”
