AUSTIN (KXAN) - Circuit of The Americas has partnered with the company Stadium People to recruit and hire as many as 700 part-time local event staff for marquee events such as the 2012 Formula One U.S. Grand Prix race.
The first event at the new track being constructed east of Austin is set for Nov. 16 to Nov. 18.
Individuals interested in positions such as ushers, ticket takers, suite services, crowd management and parking operations will be able to apply online by visiting the agency’s dedicated website .
Stadium People, one of the leading event staff employers in Texas, has employed more than 10,000 event professionals since 2009 and was critical in the launch of the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington in May of that year.
“Circuit of The Americas selected Stadium People because they recruit quality people with a strong focus on customer service who will create a warm, welcoming environment for the hundreds of thousands of guests who visit our venue each year,” Julie Loignon, the circuit’s vice president of public and community relations, noted. “Circuit of The Americas is committed to providing job opportunities for residents in our home community, with a special focus on recruitment efforts in the Del Valle neighborhood, and Stadium People utilizes innovative hiring tools that will help us achieve that goal while identifying the right team of individuals to interface with fans, teams, business partners and vendors and our neighbors.”
“We will begin recruiting and interviewing excited, energetic and service-oriented applicants in the Austin area in the coming weeks and will begin training staff in the weeks leading up to the inaugural Formula 1 event in November,” Andrew Jackson, senior vice president of operations for Stadium People, said. “Our online application and scheduling process will enable local applicants to reserve their spot on the team, learn about the various positions, interact online with our recruiters through chat sessions and get up-to-the-minute news on the facility as the big day nears.”
Local information sessions will be announced later in the summer to applicants once they are reviewed and selected.
