Ex-Rangers owner Hicks settles lawsuits
Failed project was near Ranger Ballpark

DALLAS (AP) - Former Texas Rangers owner Tom Hicks has settled a pair of lawsuits related to a failed multimillion-dollar development project near Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
Hicks sought for several years to build a shopping and restaurant district to be called GloryPark Town Center. The project was put on hold in 2008, and Hicks was sued by two separate groups of developers seeking more than $21 million in restitution.
Both lawsuits were settled this month, a development first reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Attorneys involved declined to disclose the terms.
Hicks attorney Lewis LeClair says his client is "trying to move on from the Texas Rangers."
Under Hicks' ownership, the Rangers filed for bankruptcy two years ago and have since been sold to a group that includes team president Nolan Ryan.
