COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KXAN) - Seemingly-harmless things like outdoor grilling, dragging safety chains behind a trailer, welding and building campfires can accidentally start a dangerous wildfire.

And with football tailgating party season beginning, cooking outdoors is a concern when it comes to heat meeting flammable materials.

Big 12 football coaches Mike Sherman, Mack Brown, Art Briles and Tommy Tuberville are reminding Texans that they can help prevent wildfires by way of a public service announcement that will start to air on television this week.

The Texas Forest Service says about 90 percent of wildfires in Texas are caused by people.
