ROUND ROCK (KXAN) - Friday nights are going to be very different this year for the Cedar Ridge High School football team.

This is the first year of varsity football for the Round Rock ISD school. Led by head coach and former Texas quarterback Todd Ford, the Raiders played two seasons of jayvee football since the school opened in 2010.

Ford built the program from scratch after resigning as offensive coordinator at North Texas in 2010.

The Raiders’ first game is Aug. 31 at Lehman.
